Josh’s Farmer’s Market Breaks Ground on New Permanent Home

Josh’s Farmer’s Market has officially broken ground on its new permanent home, with doors scheduled to open in Spring 2026. The market will be located at 142 Joe Knox Avenue in Mooresville and will feature a 6,700-square-foot indoor space along with adjacent outdoor seasonal areas. Designed to maintain the market’s signature open-air feel, the building will include a 60×110’ interior with 10-foot lean-to porches along the parking lot and Joe Knox Avenue sides, as well as four 14-foot bay doors that can remain open during favorable weather.
The new facility will offer expanded amenities to enhance the shopping experience. Plans include extra retail coolers, additional shelving, and increased retail square footage to better accommodate fruits, vegetables, seafood, baked goods, and other staples. New features will include an in-house butcher providing fresh cut prime and choice meats, fresh cut fruits and vegetables prepared daily, and a hand-dipped ice cream area. Outside, covered porches lined with swings and Adirondack chairs will provide welcoming spaces for relaxation and gathering.
The project includes up to 75 additional parking spaces and connectivity to the YMCA’s main parking lot, allowing entry from both Morrison Parkway and the main entrance on Joe Knox Avenue. Extra-large restrooms are also being incorporated into the design to improve visitor comfort.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in April 2026, aligning perfectly with the start of the new season. Josh’s Farmer’s Market will continue to provide the community with the same trusted services while elevating the experience through modern design, expanded offerings, and thoughtful amenities.
