Mooresville’s Best Kept… Shortcut.

It’s your wife’s birthday, and you’re already running late for dinner reservations at Epic. You’re flying across town, almost there—only to find a freight train has brought downtown Mooresville to a standstill. And it’s not moving anytime soon.
What most newcomers don’t know is that there’s a little-known secret that’s been solving this exact problem for decades.
Tucked away near Mackey Street (that’s all I’m giving you), there’s a hidden underpass that feels like a magic escape route when all hope seems lost. The tunnels were built decades ago to give emergency vehicles a reliable way to reach the west side of town without delay. It was Mooresville’s clever answer to the all-too-familiar train problem.
So the next time you’re stuck at the tracks and wondering how that fire truck just disappeared and reappeared on the other side—it’s not a trick. It’s a tunnel.
Much like getting trapped in the Target Parking lot during holiday season if you how the secret escape routes the traffic seems a little more bearable!
(yes- there is a secret to escaping Targets parking lot on Black Friday)
Cookout in Mooresville may soon be closing its doors!

…only to reopen them right across the street! (Gotcha). Cookout recently purchased the old Bank of America building in the Belk shopping center parking lot right across the street from their current location. It’s unclear whether they’ll renovate the existing structure or tear it down and build new, but either way, something’s definitely in the works.
