Big League Changes For Moor Park

A Mooresville landmark is getting a much-needed upgrade. Moor Park, a hub for local baseball since the 1930s, is undergoing a $10.2 million renovation that promises to breathe new life into the historic field and surrounding area.

Phase 1 is currently underway and focuses on a complete overhaul of the ballfield, with an expected completion date of spring 2026. Phase 2 will follow, bringing new sidewalks, improved roads, and a more walkable, pedestrian-friendly streetscape to the southern side of town.

The town has also acquired nearby land to create roughly 300 additional parking spaces. While opinions are mixed, ( you cannot please everyone…ever) I personally believe any effort to improve and modernize existing community facilities is a win.

We’ve seen what’s possible with towns like Gastonia and Kannapolis having revitalized their downtowns with similar ballpark projects. While maybe not on the same scale, there’s no reason Moor Park can’t do the same for Mooresville.
