Increased signage around Morrison Plantation
You’ve probably noticed the increase in signage around Morrison Plantation. It’s unusual to see so many, and there’s a straightforward reason behind it that doesn’t really impact anyone here.
Originally, Morrison Plantation consisted of about 65-70 individual parcels under a complex zoning system that lacked clear organization. The town is now proposing to streamline this by rezoning the entire area in accordance with the Urban Development Ordinance (UDO). Makes sense to me.
Since Morrison Plantation is nearly fully developed, this change won’t affect the existing businesses. However, it will simplify any future development hopefully. Here’s a map showing the proposed new zoning.
